The Language We Speak

I want to be able to wrap my mind around the thinking and perception of the non-churched and de-churched. When I speak or introduce the Word of God, what exactly do they think, what do they hear? James, the intelligent-data-line-guy who is installing some new equipment in our building, just walked in and asked me about where to put the t-1 line and the conjunction box and the transfer switches to connect the cat-5 cabling. What?!? I didn't understand the language he was speaking.

We must never speak words unknown to those God puts in our life to share His story with. By doing this, it makes God unknown. It's my responsibility to connect; it's my duty; it's my obligation.

If we were missionaries, would we require those we are reaching to learn our language so that we could reach them? Or do we go out of our way to learn their language so that we might reach them?

Good post.
